St Salvator's Chapel is one of two collegiate chapels belonging to the University of St Andrews, the other being St Leonard's Chapel. It was founded in 1450, by Bishop James Kennedy, built in the Late Gothic architectural style, and refurbished in the 1680s, 1860s and throughout the 20th century.

Tour Scotland photograph of Goldwing Misfits at the harbour in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. Goldwing Misfits are a group of Goldwing riders, partners and friends of riders, who have a number of things in common. The main thing is that they all have an affinity to the Honda Goldwing motorcycle in some way shape or form. These fine folks were in St Andrews raising money for Cancer Charities. I really enjoyed meeting them.

Tour Scotland Photograph Golfers Swilcan Bridge St Andrews


Tour Scotland photograph shot today of golfers on the Swilcan Bridge at the Old Course, St Andrews, Fife, Scotland. These two ladies are members of Saline Golf Club. I happened to meet them as I was photographing the golf course today, and was pleased to shoot the above photograph for them. The Swilcan Bridge, or Swilcan Burn Bridge, is a famous small stone bridge in St Andrews Links golf course, Scotland. The bridge spans the Swilcan Burn between the first and eighteenth fairways on the old course, and has itself become an important cultural icon in the sport of golf.

Tour Scotland video of the Doocot near Elcho Castle in Perthshire, Scotland. This picturesque 16th century Doocot is very close to Elcho Castle. This type of structure was intended to house pigeons or doves in days gone by in Scotland. Pigeons and doves were an important food source historically, and were kept for their eggs, flesh, and dung.

Located at Easter Elcho, Rhynd in Perth and Kinross, Elcho Castle was built in the latter half of the 16th century for the Wemyss family, whose descendants still own it, although it is now in the care of Historic Scotland.

The roof was raised and the present windows, floor and seating installed and galleries added in 1769. Number of interesting gravestones in the graveyard.

He is cycling, for charity, from Land's End to John o' Groats, the whole length of the island of Great Britain between the two extremities; in the southwest and northeast. The distance by road is 874 miles. He doesn't have a website, and is not on Twitter, but if you see him on the road North, please give him an encouraging wave.
